CAT Quotes

Nearing the end of your graduation ? Want to pursue post-graduation in management ? Want to crack the CAT ? Want to join an IIM ? Want to suceeeeeed !!!
Well atleast I want to. And I even planned "long-term" as they say. Here's what I did. There's still a year and more for my graduation to get over, so I joined a long-term course for CAT preparation. Well, lets hope I carry such sincerety and dedication through the year.
Still Interested ? Alright rejoice, the boring part is over.I am not here to give you a long piece about wat to do & wat not to do,etc. As I said I am just starting out with my prep but I find myself very lucky to avail very gifted lecturers. The classes are anything but boring. I am proud to say that each day I learn something new. I mean if they want to get a point across, they do so in a manner in which I will surely remember it for a long time. Now that is a gift not bestowed on everybody around. Here are some excerpts that I happen to remember from my CAT prep classes. Dont worry they are very general and not subject-specific. Go on, have a read....

-sir:"Long-term and all that is okay, but you should remember what we did in the last class."

-student: "This is Vikram"
sir:"This is a fan, this is a book, are you an object ?"

-sir:"What does a manager do ?"
 student:"Manage"
sir:"Okay ,we cracked that joke, now answer my question."

-sir:"Why are you late ?"
 student:"Sir,the bus was late."
sir:"Oh,so the bus was late and you were on time, ridiculous !"

-sir:"Don't you feel helpless ? A Sardar has come to teach you logic."

-sir:"11+11=10 ,yes I can prove it !"

-sir:"Our job is to analyse how not to violate the rule, rather than satisfying it."

-sir:"I have given you the rifle and provided you with the shooting range. Let's see how well you    perform at the games."

-sir:"Aim for accuracy, build up speed."

that day in my life !

Recently I attended an Advanced English Communication Lab which is a part of my BTech course.Things were going on pretty slowly.Mam was dictating notes(I hate writing notes, moreover she wanted it to be super tidy). We were hovering around each topic that we are supposed to learn in lab and were noting some details about it.I was on the verge of a mid-lab nap, when mam dictated
"4) Public Speaking:It is an art by which a person projects his/her feelings upon a crowd........."
and my mind flashbacked to an unforgettable day in my life during my school days.I was studying in std 8th,Ryan International School,Surat then.In those days I used to be an enthusiastic participant in all types of competitions. The race between different houses in the school to be numero uno used to really jump the excitement levels and those competitions formed a major chunk of the decisive points. So you really seemed a hero if you won even a single competition by your talent.I was good at public speaking and I proved it by winning the elocution bout(honestly the other contestant were not that challenging though I had to deal with no electricity-no mike in front of an auditoriuom). That was that but the heat turned on me when I was asked to represent the school for the city championship.Wow,I was not actually ready for that ! I mean my personal opinion was that I am average at public speaking(cuz i have heard better speakers in my age group) but lack of a tough fight gave me the school title. Now I had to stand up to the best.Today I realize that it was just about giving it your all and seeing how it goes, but those were the days !It turned out that I prepared the speech but never had the confidence to practice it perfectly untill the D-day morning. The battle of the orators was at afternoon so I decided to learn the speech in school before the competition(dont remember ever not doing that sort of a thing). That was it.........lightning struck me.Haha...........not literally.During the morning assembly in front of the whole school the Principal announced about the competition and asked the participant(me) generously .........."to come on stage and deliver his speech for 2 minutes"..........and I was like O shit !!! Dont worry nothing startling happened next.I started with my speech and got dumbstruck in between-a minute of silence-like I was paying my respects to someone in heaven. My God ! that minute seemed like a century. This was enough for squashing any extra confidence I had reserved for the real bout(just got the participation certificate).
Though I didnt turn into a statue again in front of a crowd I cant forget that day in my life.Especially when boring notes are being dictated to you when you are wearing an apron and the ac is working on 29 degree celsius.

JNTU insensitivity

Hi friends,
I have recently heard that JNTU has given instructions to colleges to cancel library and sports period. My college has started following this rule though its not mandatory(I think),so we are feeling pretty depressed . Previously we had a library and a sports period each. I accept honestly that we used to bunk half a day when we used to have sports period. But it isnt the case that we are being benefited by this rule much cause the portion is going on as normal. So my message for jntu is "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Just scrap this stupid rule. All who feel the same are welcome to support this post.
Thank You
